Born on 24 November 1994 in Welwyn Garden City, and with Chelsea since he was an Under-11, Alex is a 6ft 3in central defender who is comfortable in possession of the ball as well as a strong tackler.
He appeared 12 times for the youth team as a schoolboy, scoring once, and made his reserve team debut as a substitute against Manchester United in April 2011.
In 2011/12, he came into the Youth Cup side as the campaign progressed and was manager Adi Viveash's pick of the players in the second leg of the final as the trophy was won. Alex also started his first reserve game and signed two-year professional terms in July 2012.
This season he has kicked on and is one of only two players - along with Lewis Baker - to feature in every game of both the NextGen Series and FA Youth Cup.
Davey has also featured regularly for Dermot Drummy's Under-21s, more often than not partnering Nathan Ake at the heart of the defence.
He has scored one goal so far this season.
In August 2012, Davey became a Scotland Under-19 international, and he has continued to represent his nation throughout the course of the current campaign.
