Mitchell Beeney

Chelsea
Born on 3 October 1995 in Leeds, Mitchell joined Chelsea at Under-12 level from Gillingham and is a tall goalkeeper who played 18 games in the youth team in 2011/12 when still a schoolboy, due to Jamal Blackman stepping up into the reserves.

Mitchell was also on the bench for the successful Youth Cup campaign and is son of Academy goalkeeper coach and former Leeds stopper Mark Beeney. Now in his first year full-time.

The young goalkeeper played in every game en route to the FA Youth Cup final and made a couple of key saves in the first leg of the semi-final against Liverpool.

Beeney, who during the current campaign has played for both the Under-18s and Under-21s, was also a regular in the Next Gen Series, playing all but two of our matches on our way to the semi-finals.

He was in goal for the 4-3 last-four win over Arsenal in Lake Como, while also playing in the final defeat at the hands of Aston Villa.
