Our Under-21s are back in action this evening when we take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Telford FC, looking to end a run of four matches without a win.

When Wolves came to Stamford Bridge at the end of August, the Blues ran out comfortable 5-0 winners, but since that day we have struggled for results, with three defeats and a draw, while our opponents have gone from strength to strength.

After a two-week break since our last outing, a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Fuham, manager Dermot Drummy is hopeful his side can turn things around, and points to the return to fitness of a couple of his more experienced players as reasons for encouragement.

'It will be tough, we obviously need to improve on our results so there's pressure in that respect, but the boys will have to deal with that,' he tells the official Chelsea website.

'We've got Rohan (Ince) and Conor (Clifford) back in contention, and while it will be a tough game, I've got every confidence in the boys that if we can eradicate the mistakes at the back, we have enough quality to create chances.

'You know when you go there that they're going to compete, but first and foremost we need to be prepared mentally, and then win our individual battles.'

Tonight's game marks the start of a busy period for Drummy and his young side, but with developing players, games are what they need, and you certainly won't find the boss complaining.

'This is what we want,' he explains. 'We're getting back into a programme of games, with Manchester City and another NextGen game to come.

'We're working really hard, I can't fault the boys for effort and we're hoping for a win.'

Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21s v Chelsea takes place tonight at Telford FC, kick-off 7pm.

Tickets are available at the stadium on arrival.
