The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund was founded in 1999 by Chelsea fan Thomas Ball. Thomas was only nine when he started the charity and undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma stage four, which he had been diagnosed with 20 months earlier.

The main objective of The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund is to relieve sickness and distress among children suffering from cancer and members of their families. This usually means funding medical equipment, holidays, special gifts and research.
