OSCAR: WANTING MORE

Having come from the substitute's bench to secure an important victory in Prague last week, Oscar is hoping he can continue to contribute in the latter stages of the season.

The 21-year-old has had a fine first season in England since arriving from Internacional in his native Brazil, scoring a number of impressive goals. None have caught the eye quite as much as his effort nine minutes from time in the General Stadium seven days ago, where he made an immediate impact after his introduction.

'At Internacional in the Copa Libertadores, the South American Champions League, I scored some important goals as well, which was great for me in my career, but here is a bit different,' Oscar said. 'Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world competing in the biggest competitions, and I really hope I can keep improving and doing well, scoring important goals.

'I scored five in the Champions League, now I have one in the Europa League and I want to have more.'

His experience in Prague was rather symbolic of his Chelsea career so far - short with an immediate impact. Life in England seems to suit the midfielder.

'I'm very happy and we are enjoying it more and more day by day, my wife and family,' he explained. 'Everybody is happy here and we are getting to know London a little bit more. I take English classes and it is improving all the time, so in two or three months I think I will speak more and I can already understand some. I'm very happy in spite of the cold!

'Also I am adapting to playing in England and the Premier League all the time. I think I'm playing well and now I'm starting games more often I feel like I'm doing well. I hope I can continue to do this as it helps my improvement, and I want to help Chelsea win games, competitions and titles.'
