Petr Cech started Czech Republic's World Cup qualifier in Armenia today (Tuesday) and in doing so, earned his 100th international cap.

Everyone at Chelsea Football Club congratulates our goalkeeper on his very special achievement.

Cech said ahead of the game: 'I am very proud to complete the century tonight in a very important game. It would be nice to celebrate with a win.'

His wish came true and he was also rewarded with clean sheet, the Czech team winning 3-0 thanks to three second-half goals.

The 30-year-old has been a Chelsea player for 77 of those international appearances and his 100 caps follows on from Ashley Cole reaching the same total for England last month.

Cech 100

Cech is the second most-capped player for his nation, behind Karol Poborsky who played 118 times.
