THE BROMPTON FOUNTAIN WINS ONLINE CHARITY POLL

The Brompton Fountain has won the fans' Online Charity Poll and will now hold bucket collections at Stamford Bridge during this weekend's game against Swansea.

Thousands of fans voted in the poll, which included 28 charities.

'We are absolutely delighted to have won the 'community and support' online poll,' said director of the Brompton Fountain Trudy Nickels.

'This will make a massive difference to the charity and every penny raised will help us to support more children with life-threatening heart and lung conditions and their families.

'Being based at a hospital that is very local to the stadium we appreciate all of the help and awareness we receive from the club. Huge thanks to the Chelsea Foundation for giving us this opportunity.'

The Brompton Fountain was born from a need and desire on the part of the Royal Brompton Hospital and families to improve parent involvement with patient care.

The Brompton Fountain visits families staying at The Royal Brompton Hospital to listen to their concerns and offer support. They also put families in touch with others who have been through similar situations.

Support is not just offered to parents either. Brothers and sisters of children with chronic conditions often feel anxious, stressed and left out. They have regular family fun days to bring families together to have fun and a break from the daily routine.

The Community and Support Charity Poll was the fourth poll to take place this season. There will be five in total, with the remaining poll set to take place next week. This will be the Military Charity Poll.
