Chelsea Ladies' Sofia Jakobsson was an unused substitute as hosts Sweden beat Italy 3-1 to finish top of Group A at the European Championships.

Three goals in a 10-minute spell at the beginning of the second half put the home side firmly in the ascendancy, and though Italy pulled a goal back late on the damage had already been done.

Both sides, however, are through to the quarter-finals of the competition, with Italy qualifying as group runners up.

Jakobsson had started the two previous matches, but began the final group game on the substitutes' bench, and after a goalless opening 45 minutes Sweden took charge immediately after the break.

They were gifted the lead two minutes into the second half when Raffaella Manieri put through her own net, and doubled their advantage two minutes later through Lotta Schelin.

Josefine Oqvist all but wrapped the points up shortly before the hour mark, with Melania Gabbiadini scoring a consolation goal for Italy.
