There was disappointment for Chelsea Academy player Isak Ssewankambo as injury kept him out of Sweden's good start to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup this weekend.

The young Swede side beat Iraq 4-1 in their opening match in the tournament held in the United Arab Emirates, but Ssewankambo had been undergoing treatment for what was described as a minor thigh injury in the days preceding the game.

The central defender/midfielder, who joined Chelsea last season and played six games for our Under-21s and 16 for the Under-18s, was expected to start if fit.

Sweden U17s took the lead in the first half but Iraq, who were backed by a large support, equalised after the interval before the Scandinavians scored three times in 21 minutes for a convincing victory.

They are next in action on Tuesday against Nigeria before ending their group matches against Mexico on Friday.
