FAMILY FUN DAY AS CHELSEA LADIES FACE EVERTON

Posted on: Sun 09 Jun 2013

After falling to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Thursday, Chelsea Ladies will be hopeful of returning to winning ways when we take on Everton at Tooting & Mitcham FC this afternoon (Sunday).

Today is the last chance to see Emma Hayes's side in action ahead of a seven-week break due to the European Championships in Sweden, and with a host of family entertainment on offer prior to kick-off, make sure you come along and get behind the Blues.

'This is the second time we will have met Everton this season as we travelled to Merseyside in the Continental Cup. We were edged out 2-1 but the game itself was a closely fought contest with Jill Scott scoring a last minute winner,' said the Chelsea manager.

'Overall, the first half of our campaign has been largely encouraging. There have been some strong performances, in particular away at Doncaster and at home to Liverpool.

'We are on target as a club to be where we expected come the break but we are still very much a work in progress.

'We are getting better and better with every performance and will be going all out for a win on Sunday ahead of the mid-season break.'

The FA Women's Super League resumes on 4 August when we host Doncaster Rovers Belles at Staines Town FC.

Today's game against Everton kicks off at 2pm, with tickets priced £5 for adults and £3 for juniors and seniors.
