Chelsea Ladies' striker Sofia Jakobsson featured for Sweden as they drew 1-1 with Denmark on the opening day of the Women's European Championship.

Jakobsson came on as a second-half substitute in an entertaining fixture. The Danes took the lead midway through the first half thanks to Mariann Gajhede Knudsen before Nilla Fischer equalised for Sweden, who could have won the tie but saw two second-half penalties saved by Danish keeper Stina Petersen.

Tournament hosts Sweden will next be in action again on Saturday when they face Finland, but before that, two more Blues players will be hoping to get a taste of the action on Friday.

Defender Dunia Susi and striker Eniola Aluko are both part of Hope Powell's England squad and the Three Lions start their campaign against Spain (kick-off 7.30pm). That game, and Sweden's clash with Finland, are live on BBC Three.
