While the first team were away in the US, Chelsea FC Education's Alive and Kicking senior fans group enjoyed a tour of their own.

This once-in-a lifetime trip to the Cobham training ground was a special treat to end another successful season for the group. The guided tour included the press room, changing facilities, medical rooms, gym and the amazing pool area.

Senior fans were in awe of the luxurious facilities enjoyed by today's players. 'It's just like a five-star hotel,' they commented.

The Academy building was equally impressive and the group were confident that the attention to the training of Chelsea's stars of tomorrow would pay off in the future. An unexpected highlight of the trip was a glimpse of Joe Cole and Michael Ballack who were having treatment and Paulo Ferreira doing some work in the gym.

The following week the Alive and Kicking group visited The National Army Museum in Chelsea. They had a talk and artefact handling session on World War II and National Service. All the group members had been in the Army during the war or called up for National Service in the years following. The guns and uniforms certainly brought back memories but the conversation soon turned back to their beloved Chelsea FC and a discussion of the team in the 40s and 50s.
