During the Easter Holidays, The Chelsea FC Foundation successfully delivered the FA Junior Football Leaders award to 16 budding young coaches.
The participants were part of the Advance Training Centres in Essex. They completed the two-day course, the first recognised award on the FA Learning Pathway.
The award; aimed at 14 to 16 year olds, covers four main areas including helping with a team, assisting football coaching sessions, refereeing and football competitions.
Sam Carpenter was one of the participants who completed the course, the 15 year old said: 'I had a great time and am very excited about everything to do with football coaching!'
Chelsea FC Foundation coach Zak Wooster; who is also the FA recognised tutor added: 'This course is a perfect introduction to the FA learning pathway. These players regularly participate in our training centres each week and can now look to potentially embark on a career within football. When they turn 16 we can then also look to enrol in our coach education scheme onto an FA Level 1 course and beyond.'
