Comment Six players with less than 90 minutes on-pitch time in the pre-season are given starts. Carvalho captains. The changes naturally cause some upset to the flow but Chelsea improve as the first half continues and hit the post twice. It is however the first time Ancelotti's team fail to find the net before the interval. Club America hit the post in the second half but Chelsea eventually grind the Mexicans down. Di Santo and Malouda hit their first pre-season goals, Malouda against the same opposition he netted his first Chelsea goal against two years ago. Against a side playing their seventh pre-season game compared with Chelsea's fourth, fitness did not look lacking. A thunderstorm rages outside in the second half but no leaks are spotted. The win secures a tournament victory and makes it a 100 per cent US tour with only Ballack's injury on the debit side. Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys awarded the trophy. The combined crowd total who watched Chelsea's tour was 274,945, averaging 68,736 - the largest for a four-match tour in US history.
