HILARIO SELECTED BUT TWO DROP OUT

Hilario has received his first call-up for the Portugal national team ahead of their World Cup qualification play-off against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The Chelsea keeper joins team-mates Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira and Deco in a squad of 23 selected by Carlos Queiroz. Eduardo of Braga and Rui Patrício of Sporting Lisbon are the other keepers. Hilario has played three full Chelsea games this season and kept three clean sheets.

Jose Bosingwa has been deselected from the squad. He will undergo exploratory arthroscopy tomorrow (Monday) on his knee.

Ashley Cole has not been selected in the England squad for their friendly against Brazil. The Chelsea left-back has a depressed fracture of the tibia, an injury first picked up in the Atlético Madrid home match last month.

He aggravated the injury before today's match against Manchester United and required an injection to play. However, he further injured it during the game and has therefore been ruled out of this week's England squad. Frank Lampard and John Terry are included.
