First half
Kick off
1 CHELSEA GOAL First shot of the game and Drogba buries it. Racing on to a lofted Mikel pass he beats the offside trap and slams home past the goalkeeper, who appeared stuck to his line.
5 Off the line Alex has to hack away from his own line after Gyepes rises highest from a Cardiff corner. The tall centre-half looks a threat.
7 Ambitious Well he's in the right form. Drogba nicks the ball off Rae in midfield and shoots from fully 50 yards, but hits his effort wide.
9 Yellow card Alex is booked for pulling down Bothroyd as Cardiff look to break.
10 Save From the free-kick Hilario makes a superb save to push Gerrard's header around the post. Chopra heads the corner over from four yards.
19 Abused Chopra arrives late on Carvalho and leaves a boot in, catching the defender on the ankle.
25 Special Drogba connects well with an overhead kick after Ballack centres, but his 12-yard effort is straight at Marshall in the Cardiff goal.
33 CARDIFF GOAL Chopra hits the target this time and he can hardly miss, running beyond Alex and flicking Burke's cross low past the helpless Hilario.
38 Over Lampard shoots high after Drogba lays off on the edge of the Cardiff area.
43 Close From 30 yards, Sturridge drives a foot wide, superb effort that had Marshall at full stretch.
Stoppage time 3 minutes.

Chelsea v Cardiff

Chelsea sub Joe Cole is replaced by Salomon Kalou.

Second half
Kick off
50 CHELSEA GOAL Another Chelsea goal with the first chance of the half, sub kalou feeding Drogba, who in turn clips a ball through for Ballack. The German makes no mistake, lifting the ball over Marshall and in.
60 Yellow card Carvalho is cautioned after a challenge from behind on Bothroyd. Did play the ball though.
66 Abused Kalou goes down under a challenge from Gerrard on the right flank, and the defender goes into the book.
68 CHELSEA GOAL Sturridge scores in his third consecutive Cup game, the ball breaking loose inside the area after Drogba is tackled and the young forward slotting home.
74 Cardiff sub Darcy Blake replaces Gavin Rae in midfield.
78 Substitutions Malouda for Sturridge for Chelsea, McCormack for Burke for Cardiff.
78 Shot Malouda is straight into the action, firing hard but straight at Marshall from around 30 yards.
80 Close McNaughton cuts in from the Cardiff right and curls one just past Hilario's far post.
84 Alert This time it's Whittingham coming inside onto his stronger left foot, shooting low but Hilario dives to his left and holds on.
85 CHELSEA GOAL Great goal. Ferreira bombs up the right, as he has all game, and sends over a perfect cross, first-time, for Kalou, whose header loops over Marshall and in.
88 Chelsea sub Drogba makes way for Borini and receives a tremendous ovation.
89 Cardiff sub Taiwo for Wildig.
