With 2012 just around the corner, we turned to another of our Olympic hopefuls to find out what he is looking forward to seeing at London 2012...

John, what are your thoughts on football in the Olympics?
The Olympics is always a fantastic occasion and event. As a footballer you want to be involved, you want to play, it's one of the tournaments everyone wants to be in. I haven't played in it but I am hoping this time around, with it being in London I could do it, but I've gone past the age! So I would have to be an over-age player, but I would love to play, and I look forward to the opportunity.

How do the Olympics compare to the World Cup for you?
It's up there with the World Cup, but you can't take anything away from the World Cup, that's the biggest one. I hope to play in the next one more because I missed the last one.

What will you be looking out for in 2012?
The 100 metres, I'd like to see Usain Bolt win but I think there's another boy on the block! There's another Jamaican boy who is very, very quick so I'll be keeping an eye on him. I'll also be watching the tennis because I'm a big Roger Federer fan.

Who is your favourite ever Olympian?
Wow, I'd like to give it to some of the earlier guys I can remember. The American guys from the 100 metres, and I always loved the Russian pole-vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva (pictured below), who is a world record holder.

Who will do well from Nigeria?
I think the football team will do well, we always take it very seriously.

Have you seen the Olympic Stadium yet?
I haven't seen it up close but I have on TV and I think it looks really great, I'm sure the atmosphere inside will be excellent.

How will London fare as a host city?
Fantastic. I have no doubt London will pull it off and people will have a really good time all over the city.

If you had to pick one event what would it be?
Tennis or basketball, I think I would do it pretty well!

And a triathlon?
Okay, tennis, basketball and I'm good at volleyball too!

Who would be in your Chelsea 4x100 metre team?
Daniel Sturridge for sure, Jose Bosingwa, Ramires and Nicolas Anelka before he leaves…

And finally, are there any sports not in the Games that you think should be?
I've no idea now, I think all the good ones are already in there.
