Ramires today (Monday) signed a new contract which commits him to Chelsea until 2017.

The Brazilian midfielder is in his second season at the club and on Saturday at West Bromwich Albion made his 50th Barclays Premier League appearance.

In all competitions he has made 62 starts and nine substitute appearances. He has scored 10 goals, including last campaign's Chelsea goal of the season.

On signing his new five-year-deal, Ramires said: 'I am very happy with my new contract. I am very happy with the support I have playing for this club so I want to say thank you to Chelsea.'
