Petr Cech has been named the Czech Republic's player of the season for a seventh time.

The Golden Ball award is added to his nation's Footballer of the Year which he was awarded for a record fifth time in February. That was decided by the Czech FA. The Golden Ball is voted on by sports journalists and Cech is now the record winner of that too having surpassed Pavel Nedved who collected it on six occasions.

He beat Tomas Rosicky of Arsenal and third-place Peter Jiracek of Wolfsburg in this year's vote.
