COLE'S 20-YEAR VINTAGE

Ashley Cole is the best left-back of the Premier League era according to awards to mark 20 seasons of the competition, announced today (Tuesday).

Two fantasy 11s covering the two decades were voted upon, one chosen by supporters and one by a panel of judges. Cole made both teams.

In the fans' choice, the Chelsea defender polled 40 per cent of the votes. John Terry was one per cent behind Nemanja Vidic in the vote for centre-back with Rio Ferdinand a further one per cent ahead.
