With his next game as Chelsea manager approaching fast, Roberto Di Matteo has turned his attention to reasons why his team have the best defensive record in the division.

The Blues have conceded just three times in league matches so far, 10 fewer than this afternoon's opponents Norwich City, and another clean sheet would greatly aid the chances of another three points from the game.

Speaking to Chelsea TV, Di Matteo explained:

'The defensive work starts with our strikers and everybody is involved as much as we want them to be when we are attacking, and the same goes when we are defending.

'We can see how Fernando Torres from the front leads the defensive side. He chases defenders down and he presses them and that continues throughout the team. It helps when we have quality players like we do and Petr Cech has been in fine form as well.'

Speaking more about the keeper who following two notable saves at Arsenal and one in Denmark, received plaudits from many quarters including Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, Di Matteo added:

'You can judge a good goalkeeper on many variables but when a keeper is not that busy in a game, but then when he has to make a crucial save he makes it, that is why Petr Cech is one of the best in the world.'

Di Matteo's full pre-match interview with Chelsea TV is available to watch now via the channel's online access. There is also more from John Mikel Obi.
