CHELSEA TV EXCLUSIVE: HAZARD TAKES AIM

Posted on: Sun 20 Jan 2013

Eden Hazard has played in more Chelsea games than anyone this season and has found the net spectacularly in the last two.

Ahead of today's game against Arsenal, the fleet-footed Belgian spoke to Chelsea TV and confirmed his strike from outside the area at Stoke was his favourite of his eight goals so far, especially as it was scored with his left foot.

He also discussed with the club's own channel his first half-season in a new league, and how he is trying to link with the team's strikers, as was seen to good effect with his fine pass for Demba Ba's second goal at Southampton in the FA Cup.

'It is a new country, a different language, and I have been trying to adapt as quickly as I can but I can improve,' Hazard said.

'There is not a lot of difference between the French league and the English league but the most important difference is the intensity, but I try to do the things that I did in the French league.

'Demba Ba is a very good player,' he added, 'and he is going to have chances to score a lot of goals, but we have two big strikers in our squad and the most important is that we create chances and hopefully they are going to score goals.

'I try to play with a striker as a winger and do combinations, and also with Fernando Torres we did a lot of positive things.'

Hazard joined his manager Rafael Benitez in predicting that Arsenal, unlike recent visitors to Stamford Bridge, will be intending to do their share of attacking over the 90 minutes today.

'Most teams when they come to Stamford Bridge they are very deep so we don't have a lot of spaces, but this is going to be a big game so I think we are going to have more chances to create the space.

'I think it is going to be open because Arsenal like to play.'

There will be more from Eden Hazard in Chelsea TV's 'Pre Match at the Bridge' show which starts at midday. 'Extra Time at the Bridge' will follow the match at 4pm and will have plenty of reaction to the result.
