Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the club will be launching a new Soccer School in Japan this weekend.

Based in Tokyo and operated by JOKODO Sports Performance, the new Soccer School will open on Saturday 2 March and is the latest part of Chelsea FC's objective to support and develop grassroots football in Asia.

The school is part of the club's Here To Play, Here To Stay initiative which was launched during the 2011 pre-season tour, when we introduced Chelsea FC Blue Pitches in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

'We are really proud of what the club has already done for grassroots football in Asia and this is another instalment of our work developing the sport within the region,' said Adrian New, Chelsea FC's managing director in Asia.

'Chelsea FC has a huge fanbase in Asia and Soccer Schools teach aspiring footballers the club's footballing ethos through professional coaching.'

The new school will teach English and nutritional education, organise trips to the UK and the club's other Soccer Schools in Asia and play a positive role within the area by developing community outreach programmes and collaborating with local teams.

The launch of the CFCSS JP will occur at the Hachioji City Kamiyugi Stadium from 10am to 12 noon where you will be able to witness Chelsea FC Foundation Coaches and the Chelsea FC Soccer School Japan coaches working together and showcasing what the Soccer School can offer.

CFC Soccer School Japan coaches are qualified in the Chelsea FC Introductory Coaching Programme. This is to ensure the school develops young players through the philosophy and methodology of Chelsea's footballing style.
