CALL FOR COACHES TO GET INVOLVED WITH ASIAN STAR

Posted on: Tue 30 Apr 2013

Chelsea Football Club is calling on aspiring coaches from the Asian Community to get involved with a series of workshops taking place throughout the day at the Asian Star event on Monday 6 May at Cobham.

The club will be running a variety of workshops for members of the Asian community interested in starting or furthering their coaching career.

Coach educator Robert Udberg will be holding a practical demonstration at the event. There will also be contributions from Colin King from the Black and Asian Coaching Association and Riz Rehman from the Zesh Rehman Foundation about the opportunities available for coaches.

Chelsea's Asian Star programme is now entering its fifth year and brings together hundreds of young players from across the country to play for the chance to win a season-long placement on one of Chelsea's Football Development Centres. A host of previous winners have gone on to play for professional club academies.

Workshops and seminars will be running throughout the day for parents and coaches about how to get more involved with the game, and Chelsea is asking as many coaches from the Asian community to take part.

If you're interested in holding a workshop at the event then please get in touch by emailing asianstar@chelseafc.com with the subject line 'Asian Star Workshop'.
