Last weekend saw Chelsea Ladies crash out of the Continental Cup following a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool…

Continental exit
A disappointing performance in the north west saw Emma Hayes's side eliminated from the Continental Cup at the group stage.

After conceding three first-half goals, the Blues were left with a mountain to climb, and our misery was compounded eight minutes from time when Fara Williams scored directly from a free-kick to seal our fate.

With no game this weekend, we return to action next Tuesday (28 May) when we take on Birmingham City at Stratford Town FC in the FA Women's Super League, looking to bounce back from two successive defeats.

International recognition
Chelsea Ladies' Edda Gardarsdottir, Olina Vidarsdottir and Shannon Lynn have all been named in their respective international squad's for the upcoming friendly later this month.

Edda and Olina's Iceland face Shannon's Scotland on Saturday 1 June at the Laugardalsvollur National Stadium in Reykjavik, kick-off 5.45pm.

Striker Sofia Jakobsson, meanwhile, who has enjoyed an impressive start to her Blues career, has been named in the Sweden squad to face Norway next month in an international friendly.

The game is on Saturday 1 June at Arena Linkoping in Linkoping, Sweden, kick-off 3.30pm.
