Six lucky Chelsea competition winners and their guests had a day to remember on Thursday, after visiting the Sauber F1 team garage at Silverstone ahead of Sunday's British Grand Prix.

In April last year, Chelsea and Sauber joined forces to create a unique sporting partnership, and our club badge can be seen on the front of the Sauber cars of team drivers Nico Hulkenberg (pictured above with the winners) and Esteban Gutierrez in this year's Formula 1 championship.

After arriving at the circuit, the group were taken straight to Sauber's base, before being shown around the team garage, where engineers and mechanics were busy constructing the car ahead of Friday's practice session.

The winners then went for a stroll along the pit lane, where they could see rival teams preparing the cars of British drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, alongside that of current world champion Sebastian Vettel, before returning to the paddock to meet Hulkenberg and Gutierrez.

Simon, a Chelsea fan since the mid-1970s, entered the competition on and described his experience on the day as 'absolutely awesome'.

'I really enjoyed it. Being a Chelsea and Formula 1 fan combined, the relationship on the day has been absolutely perfect', he added.
