This year is the anniversary of a famous promotion won by a very young Chelsea team, managed by Tommy Docherty and captained by Bobby Tambling. It began an exciting era for Chelsea that carried on through the 1960s and into the 1970s.

To celebrate 50 years since that promotion to the First Division, we are holding a dinner at Stamford Bridge on Thursday 19 September.

The 1962/63 season itself was full of drama with Docherty's 'Little Diamonds' flying to the top of the table before a freezing winter brought football to a halt and form was lost. But the Blues regrouped and eventually got the job done with a huge final day win.

Members of the team from that Chelsea era will be at the dinner to remember the special season. So far we have confirmed attendance from Docherty, Tambling, Ron Harris, Ken Shellito, Allan Harris, Barry Bridges, Peter Bonetti, Tommy Knox, Bert Murray and John Hollins.

This is sure to be a fantastic event celebrating Chelsea history, so make sure you do not miss out.

Tickets: £45 including:

- Drinks reception
- Two-course sit-down dinner
- Three drinks vouchers
- Entertainment

We will also be holding a raffle and silent auction on the night featuring Chelsea memorabilia. Money raised will go to the Past Players' Trust.

Tickets are on online or over the phone on 0871 984 1955
