SUPPORTERS COMPETE ON COBHAM PITCHES
The first team squad are away in Asia but there was no shortage of football at Cobham on a sunny Sunday as Chelsea supporters took part in an annual 11-a-side tournament.
Competing for the Kyle Broadbent Memorial Trophy and raising money for charity in the process, 10 teams played at the club's training headquarters in up to 30 degree heat.
The tournament progressed in a Champions League-style format, encompassing group and knockout stages, and many teams had squads of up to 16 players, with regular substitutions proving popular in the hot conditions.
There were some familiar faces in attendance, with former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise joining 'old boys' Clive Walker and David Lee (pictured below) to watch on, the latter being no stranger to the annual proceedings.
'This is my fourth or fifth time of coming, and it's a great tournament, well-run, well-supported and so far it's been going really well,' he said.
Plenty of passion and desire was on show throughout the day, with several penalty shootouts, but it was the organisation and commitment of the tournament holders, Chelski Dynamo, which saw them go on to retain the trophy, beating Blue and White Army in the final.
Well done to the Chelsea Supporters Group for organising the day, and to all the teams who took part in what was another successful tournament.
