David Luiz is in the starting line-up for the first time this season.

The Brazilian has recovered from a hamstring problem and Jose Mourinho has judged him ready to play. John Terry is on the bench in the only change to the defence and deep midfield.

Fernando Torres leads the attack with Andre Schurrle and Eden Hazard expected to flank Oscar.

For Bayern Munich, Bastian Schweinsteiger is out injured and new star signing Mario Gotze is on the bench. Full-back Philipp Lahm is expected to fill in as the anchor midfield player.

Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-2-3-1 formation:

1 Petr Cech; 2 Branislav Ivanovic, 24 Gary Cahill, 4 David Luiz, 3 Ashley Cole; 7 Ramires, 8 Frank Lampard (c); 14 Andre Schurrle, 11 Oscar, 17 Eden Hazard; 9 Fernando Torres.
