Fernando Torres begins his third game in a row as striker with Juan Mata, Oscar and Andre Schurrle the attacking three behind.

Ramires and Frank Lampard are the deeper midfielders, as they were in the second half against Tottenham and the defence is unchanged from the weekend.

Steaua make two changes from their first group game in this season's Champions League. Lucian Filip plays in midfield in place of Mihai Pintilii and Federico Piovaccari is preferred to Pantelis Kapetanos as the striker.

Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-2-3-1 formation:

1 Petr Cech; 2 Branislav Ivanovic, 4 David Luiz, 26 John Terry (c), 3 Ashley Cole; 7 Ramires, 8 Frank Lampard; 10 Juan Mata, 11 Oscar, 14 Andre Schurrle; 9 Fernando Torres.
