Supporters have been invited to attend a benefit night which has been arranged to raise funds for former Chelsea midfielder Ian Britton who has prostate cancer.

The event, which takes place this Friday (18 October) at the North Cheam Social Club, will see former Stamford Bridge favourites reunite to support Britton.

After making his debut for the Blues during the 1972/73 season, Britton went on to become a regular in the side.

He was part of the homegrown team which, under the stewardship of Eddie McCreadie, won promotion back to the top flight in 1976/77, playing alongside Ray Wilkins and Garry Stanley in midfield and contributing 10 goals over the course of the campaign.

After leaving Chelsea in 1982, Britton went on to play for Dundee United, Blackpool and Burnley.

The event begins at 7pm, with tickets available priced £10 per person. Please contact the North Cheam Social Club for more info and tickets - 0208 644 8469
