Throughout the season former player Clive Walker provides radio and TV commentary on Chelsea's games. Here he selects five aspects from Saturday afternoon's ultimately comfortable home victory…

Samuel Eto'o has got something about him. His goal was a brilliant finish, a typical striker's finish, and he deserved it. His all-round game has got better and better. He worked the channels well and held the ball up effectively. Now he's got his first goal we'll see even more from him.

Cardiff's goal was a sloppy one to concede from our point of view, just like our equaliser was from theirs. Perhaps the lapse was because players had been away on international duty, playing friendlies all over the world, and hadn't quite adapted back to the intensity that comes with Premier League football.

It was another much-improved second-half performance. We paid Cardiff too much respect in the opening 45 minutes, so the introduction of Fernando Torres and the shift to three at the back really helped us impose ourselves on the game. Jose Mourinho is learning about this squad and this Premier League all the time and even though the game wasn't going the way he probably expected, with us struggling at 1-1, he changed it for the better. He's such a good reader of the game and we saw that again on Saturday.

Of course, you need attacking options on the bench, and we certainly have that. The introduction of Torres just helped put more and more pressure on Cardiff's backline. After that it was inevitable that they would buckle and that we would start to score goals. Bringing a player as good as Oscar off the bench too just shows the strength in depth in the squad.

Willian did really well on his first Premier League start. He showed some fantastic ability and linked up well with Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Eto'o, and then later on with substitutes Torres and Oscar. He scored a great goal at Norwich and now it looks like he's ready to burst on to the scene.
