Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the opening of a new state-of-the-art Blue Pitch in South Korea.

The ground in the Songdo International Business District, Incheon, will be home to the Chelsea FC Soccer School Korea and opened on 30 November.

The international-standard facility includes two pitches for young players and three for futsal and is fully equipped with floodlights for evening training and games.

Chelsea already has the largest Foundation in the Premier League and we are using this huge wealth of knowledge and experience to develop community-focused programmes all around the world.

Blue Pitches are designed to provide communities with access to high-quality facilities and training, as well as Chelsea's community programmes promoting the values of education, health and social inclusion.

The pitches are part of Chelsea's Here to Play Here to Stay initiative which ensures a long-term commitment to our global communities and uses the power of sport to educate and inspire.

Chief Executive Ron Gourlay said: 'We are proud of what the club has already done for grassroots football in Asia and this is another fantastic example of our work developing sport and community programmes within the region.

'The new facility in South Korea will be the perfect venue for Chelsea's experienced coaches to run training sessions, and for young people to train the Chelsea way. As an important part of our Here to Play Here to Stay strategy, the facility will leave a legacy for years to come.'

The classes at the Soccer School will be led by local coaches, who have been fully certified and supported by the Chelsea Foundation.

The facility in South Korea will be an excellent addition to Chelsea's existing work in Asia, with Blue Pitches and Soccer Schools in Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China and Sabah.
