FOUNDATION LOTTERY JACKPOT WON ON PITCH
The Chelsea Foundation made the Christmas wishes of 10 fans come true, as the lucky members of the Chelsea Lottery took part in the annual jackpot draw on the pitch at Stamford Bridge before the Southampton game.
Guest of honour was Chelsea legend Bobby Tambling who drew the balls to allocate the prizes in ascending order of value. With the jackpot £10,000, one fan in particular was delighted to have joined the lottery.
'I didn't know how far through the draw we had got although I kept looking along the line and I was trying to count,' said jackpot-winner Jenny Coulson about the moment her number was drawn.
'I was trying to take it all in, with being out on the pitch, and to receive the first prize from a Chelsea legend like Bobby Tambling was superb.
'I have done this lottery since it started. I have always played football since a young age and the lottery is a chance to give a chance to someone else. Everyone deserves a chance.'
'I know what a great job the Foundation does not only for the young people but for the old boys as well through the Chelsea Past Players' Trust,' he said. 'The work they do and the range of activities they provide is amazing and I'm delighted to be able to lend a hand today.'
Launched in May 2011, the Lottery is dedicated to raising money for the Chelsea Foundation. All funds raised go towards their award-winning community and charity programme, using sport to help inspire, engage and educate.
