Ashley Cole, fresh from England duty and prior to his first training session under Jose Mourinho this afternoon, has given his first interview as a Chelsea player. It can be seen tonight on Chelsea TV.

He talks about his transfer, how he came to make his choice of clubs and another offer he had.

The England factor it turns out was a big draw ? the chance to perform every week alongside international colleagues and the man he describes as 'a great captain'.

Another England player, Wayne Bridge is discussed and the competition for places that is guaranteed. "I didn't come here just expecting to play," says Cole.

The new signing gives an update on his fitness ahead of a potential Premiership debut and reveals which Chelsea players he found it hardest to play against in opposition.

The interview can be seen tonight (Thursday) on Blues News at 6.30pm, repeated at 10pm. It can be viewed via Chelsea TV Online tomorrow.
