In pictures: The Netherlands

The second week of our European training camp was predominantly spent in the Netherlands, with a match in Germany too. The official Chelsea website takes a look back on the last seven days through images taken on the trip...

Didier Drogba had met up with the team in Slovenia last Sunday, and he joined up with his team-mates for the first time on Monday. Here, he listens to instructions from Jose Mourinho.

The team trained at Vitesse Arnhem's training ground for the whole of our time in the Netherlands. That afforded Marco van Ginkel, a former Vitesse player, plenty of opportunities to catch-up with some familiar faces, including Raimond van der Houw, once of Manchester United and now the Vitesse goalkeeping coach.

On Wednesday, we took on Vitesse at the GelreDome, their home stadium. Two of our younger players, Bertrand Traore and Wallace, are spending the season on loan at Vitesse. Mourinho caught up with the latter prior to kick-off.

On the pitch, the performance was a good one, with the Blues running out 3-1 winners. Cesc Fabregas scored the pick of the bunch with a stunning free-kick, his first goal for the club.

Thibaut Courtois joined up with his new team-mates for the first time during the week, including Petr Cech. The pair share a joke with goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon.

On Sunday it was off to Germany. Werder Bremen were our opponents and before kick-off each of their players were introduced to the home support, including former Blue Franco Di Santo.

The game against Bremen was a disappointing one as we went down 3-0, but there was satisfaction to be taken from seeing Courtois, Drogba and also Eden Hazard in match action for the first time this summer.
