Chelsea here Chelsea there

The official Chelsea website brings you up to date with the progress being made by some of our loan players and previews the week ahead…

Loan highlights

In the Championship, Ola Aina and Michael Hector came up against John Terry in Hull’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. Both performed well, Hector in central defence and Aina at right-back, and Aina was involved in the move which led to Hull’s second-half equaliser.

Tomas Kalas featured at the back for Fulham in their 1-1 draw against Norwich, while Lucas Piazon was an unused substitute. Ike Ugbo, meanwhile, made his senior debut for Barnsley as they were beaten 3-1 by Bristol City. The 18-year-old was withdrawn with 11 minutes to play.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Jamal Blackman (pictured above) kept a clean sheet for Sheffield United as they beat Brentford 1-0 at Bramall Lane, with the goalkeeper making a number of important saves for the hosts.

In League One, Jay Dasilva played at left-back for a Charlton side which reacted well to having striker Lee Novak sent off after just six minutes, as the Addicks beat Bristol Rovers 1-0.

In League Two, Bradley Collins was in goal for Forest Green Rovers in a 2-2 draw against Barnet. Another Chelsea shot-stopper, Nathan Baxter, was in action for Woking who beat Gateshead 2-1 in the National League, with Jared Thompson also between the sticks, for Chippenham Town, in a goalless draw against Havant and Waterlooville.

Further afield, Fankaty Dabo played the full game for Vitesse Arnhem against Feyenoord in the Netherlands Super Cup. After a 1-1 draw the match went to penalties, and despite substitute Charlie Colkett scoring from the spot, Vitesse lost the shoot-out 4-2. Mason Mount and Matt Miazga were unused subs for Vitesse.

Last Thursday, Marco van Ginkel was part of the PSV Eindhoven team beaten in the Europa League by NK Osijek.

Having joined Spartak Moscow on loan last week, Mario Pasalic played the last 15 minutes as they were beaten 5-1 by a Zenit St Petersburg side which included Branislav Ivanovic.

In Serbia, Danilo Pantic completed the full 90 minutes for Partizan Belgrade as they beat FK Spartak 1-0, meaning they have taken maximum points from their opening three matches.

The week ahead

It's a big week all around the club as our first team, development squad and Under-18s prepare for their opening matches of the new season.

Joe Edwards's development squad are first up as they travel to Manchester City on Friday night for a 7.05pm kick-off, a game which can be seen live on Chelsea TV. Jody Morris's Under-18s then play Aston Villa away on Saturday at 11am.

The defence of our Premier League crown gets underway on Saturday at 3pm when Burnley visit Stamford Bridge, and Antonio Conte will speak to the media ahead of that game on Friday.

Our official Twitter feed, @chelseafc, will have live updates from all of those matches.
