We round up a handful of games for our players currently with other clubs and look at the Chelsea match action to come…
The international fixtures over the past week have limited club action for our players out on loan although there have been appearances in the English lower leagues and in Central America.
In League One, Jordan Houghton (pictured) was part of a Doncaster side that won well at home to Southend at the weekend. Having gone 1-0 up on the stroke of half-time, the Yorkshire club ran out 4-1 winners and secured a much-needed three points which moves them up to 17th in the table.
There was also a home victory for Nathan Baxter in the National League, and a clean sheet for the young goalkeeper as Woking ran out 1-0 winners over Dagenham and Redbridge. Woking remain in third, one point behind leaders Macclesfield thanks to their second-half goal.
There was less success for another of our young keepers, Jared Thompson, who was in the Chippenham Town side beaten 4-0 away by Welling United. He did however make several good saves to prevent the defeat being even heavier. Chippenham are mid-table in the National League South.
In Mexico, Jhoao Rodriguez played in Tampico Madero’s 2-3 home defeat against Alebrijes De Oaxaca.
The week ahead
Chelsea Ladies take centre stage midweek with the second leg of their Round of 32 Champions League match taking place in Germany. Emma Hayes’s side are 1-0 up on aggregate against Bayern Munich going into the decisive game which kicks off at 7pm local time (6pm UK time) and is live on Chelsea TV and our YouTube channel.
Our development squad side play their first game in three weeks on Friday, a home match against Swansea at Aldershot. That begins at 7.05pm and is also live on Chelsea TV.
On Saturday, our high-flying Under-18s begin the match action with a noon kick-off away to Leicester, followed soon after by the first team’s Premier League London derby at Crystal Palace which has a 3pm start.
