Chelsea Ladies to discover next European opponents

The draw for the Women’s Champions League last 16 takes place at 12.30pm UK time today (Monday) and there are seven teams Emma Hayes’s Blues could meet after their fantastic victory over Bayern Munich in the previous round.

A seeding system is once again in place so the remaining teams are split into two groups of eight as per their UEFA coefficient. Chelsea Ladies are ranked 10th in that list and are therefore one of the unseeded teams, as they were in the previous round.

Manchester City Women are seeded but we cannot draw them as they are from the same association. That leaves seven possible options, including holders Lyon and Wolfsburg, who have knocked us out in our previous two Champions League campaigns.

The list of potential opponents is completed by Swedish side Rosengard, Barcelona, Brescia from Italy, and both Sparta and Slavia Prague.

Matches take place on 8/9 November and 15/16 November. The draw will be streamed live on UEFA’s website from 12.30pm UK time.
