Azpilicueta: Big teams respond

Cesar Azpilicueta says tomorrow’s game at Huddersfield provides us with the perfect opportunity to bounce back from the disappointment of a first Premier League defeat since mid-October.
The Blues head north looking for an instant response having been beaten by West Ham United on Saturday, with the home side scoring the only goal of the game after just six minutes.
It was the fourth time in five matches we have conceded first, something that needs to quickly be rectified, according to Azpilicueta.
‘Every time you concede an early goal it makes it even more difficult,’ said the defender, who made his 250th appearance for the Blues on Saturday. ‘Every game is difficult. You have to play 90 minutes very well to get the points. When you are 1-0 down it becomes harder.
‘We are obviously disappointed with it. We need to analyse to bounce back from the defeat. I think we did not start the way that we had to start. We conceded an early goal and after this West Ham were in a dangerous position.
‘Every point is important for them, but the same for us. So after this we were not able to create chances to score and when you are 1-0 down it is difficult and we were not able to come back.’
Results elsewhere over the weekend mean we remain in third place, three points behind Manchester United, who lost against Manchester City yesterday. For now, however, Azpilicueta insists our only focus is on securing a positive result at the John Smith’s Stadium, where Huddersfield beat Brighton 2-0 on Saturday.
‘Big teams, after a defeat, we have to answer in a strong way,' he said. 'We know it is a tough place. We have the character and hopefully we can get the three points.
‘We are in December and we cannot think more than this. We have a tough game against Huddersfield, we will try to get the three points on the road and get back to winning ways and keep going, keep pushing.’
