BridgeKids show spot-kick quality

Some of our young supporters enjoyed a special treat when they were invited to take part in a penalty shoot-out on the Stamford Bridge pitch on Saturday.

Five BridgeKids members went up against their parents in a penalty competition, with Eduardo the goalkeeper, during half-time of Saturday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The shoot-out, which took place in front of a huge Stamford Bridge crowd, was the undoubted highlight of a memorable day for the children, who were greeted by David Luiz shortly before they headed out onto the pitch.

Earlier in the day they were given a tour of the changing rooms, and handed brand-new pairs of football boots, as well as EA SPORTS player ratings cards, by Chelsea Ladies’ Claire Rafferty and YouTube star Wolfy (pictured below).

There were very few nerves on show as the youngsters, and their family members, were introduced to the crowd, and the watching David Luiz, scorer of a penalty in the Champions League final in 2012, was clearly impressed by some of the spot-kicks taken.

Some of the children made the most of their time in the spotlight by showcasing some impressive celebrations, before heading back inside to watch the remainder of our 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

All in all, it was the perfect day, and you can see how it all unfolded in the video above.
