Blues turn out to support movie launch

Chelsea players past and present were out in force at Stamford Bridge on Monday night as they attended the London premiere of new Russian movie The Coach.

Blues stars including Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, Tiemoue Bakayoko, David Luiz and Eden Hazard joined lead actor, director and producer Danila Kozlovsky to enjoy a first viewing of the film. Club director Marina Granovskaia and former players Carlo Cudicini, Paulo Ferreira and Henrique Hilario, were also present at Under The Bridge, our exclusive venue beneath the East Stand, which was turned into a homely cinema for the evening.

Kozlovsky welcomed visitors to the event before the movie was shown, and explained to Chelsea TV how much the project meant to him.

‘I always wanted to play a football coach, their behaviour is so theatrical and dramatic’ he said. ‘It’s a dream come true and I will always remember it. It means the world to me, I feel like a small boy. I am a huge fan of Chelsea, have been supporting since childhood, so it’s great.’

The movie tells the story of a former international footballer who overcomes adversity to lead his unfancied team towards glory. It is released on 19 April, ahead of this summer's World Cup, which also takes place in Russia.
