Chelsea Ladies conceded three goals to Everton despite controlling possession when we travelled to face the Merseysiders.

After a long journey north, Chelsea Ladies arrived to face our league rivals with the League Cup winners' current form sure to give the Blues a tough game, and they did not disappoint.

Given our recent results, we were in need of a few changes to the starting line-up. A return to the 4-3-3 formation saw Kylie Davies return as centre-half.

The game began with both sides gaining good spells of possession. We looked to have the slight upper hand as attacks down both flanks saw Ellen White and Claire Rafferty release some dangerous crosses into the box.

At the other end, Everton targeted the right-back position and caused problems for both Casey Stoney and Laura Cooper.

With 16 minutes gone, Everton managed to cut a ball into the near post for Jodie Hanley to score Everton's opener.

The Blues reacted to the goal with a positive response that saw Jess Smith launch a couple of corners into the six yard box, one of which was punched onto the bar by the Everton keeper.

But, despite the Blues' possession, we lacked creativity in the Everton end of the pitch.

However, Everton had no problems displaying their creative talents as they scored two well-crafted goals in the 21st and 36th minute, both of which came from crosses out wide.

It was 3-0 and the Ladies had plenty to do at half-time. A change was made to help with the problems down the right as Laura Cooper came on to replace Emma Delves.

The front line started with the same pressure but with better support from the midfield. Our high defensive line further condensed the midfield and put the Everton players under pressure.

This set the tone for the second-half as we dominated the run of play.

Midway through the half Everton created one more chance as a well hit free-kick from 25 yards forced an acrobatic save from Chamberlain to deflect the ball over the bar.

The game finished with Chelsea winning most of the possession but still failing to create chances inside the box. It was another three points slipped as we left the field for the long trip back to London.

'The game closed with good spells and a positive 45 minutes but still with no points,' said Chelsea Ladies manager Shaun Gore.

'Cardiff away next week, lets hope we can take the positives from this performance and start getting a few results,' added Gore.
