Niclas Heimann

Born 12/3/ 91 in Engelskirchen, Germany.
A German goalkeeper in his first year as a scholar having signed for free from Bayer Leverkusen. Tall, stylish and left-footed.

Nana Ofori-Twumasi

Born 15/5/90 in Accra, Ghana.
This season's youth team captain moved to England from Africa aged 10 and spent his early teenage years on the same west London estate as former Blue Carlton Cole.

 

A right-back, Nana was a junior athletics champion and his pace and strength have helped win recognition at England Under 18 level for whom he takes penalties. A Chelsea Academy product, in his second full-time year, he was part of the club's humanitarian visit to Ghana in conjunction with global charity partner Right To Play in May/June 2007.

Nikki Ahamed

Born 18/4/91 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
A holding midfielder or right-back who grew up in the Wembley area of London, Nicky has been with Chelsea since he was ten-years-old.

A first year scholar, he played four games in the youth team last season when still a schoolboy.

Jack Saville

Born 2/4/91 in Frimley, Surrey.
A left-sided centre-half who joined from Reading Under-14s at the same time as Brendan Rodgers, our current reserve team manager, made a similar journey between the clubs.

Jeffrey Bruma

Born 13/11/91
Though still a schoolboy, 16-year-old Jeffrey has played centre-back in every round in the FA Youth Cup and is the top appearance maker in the youth league. He has also made his first reserve start and helped the Dutch Under 17 side to the European Championship finals.

Ben Gordon

Born 2/3/91 in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
A tall left-back in his first year at Chelsea having signed from Leeds United in the summer. Ben has enjoyed international recognition at England Under 17 level.

Billy-Joe King

Born 23/9/90 in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey.
A left-back who has recovered from a dislocated knee to begin his first scholar year. Brought up close to the Cobham training headquarters, Billy-Joe has been with Chelsea since the Under 8s age group .

Jordan Hibbert

Born 25/10/90 in Hampstead, London.
An attacking midfielder who grew up in south London, Jordan has been with Chelsea since the Under 14s team.

As a schoolboy he played eight games in the youth team last season, scoring twice. Now a first year full-time scholar.

Tom Taiwo

Born 27/2/90 in Leeds, West Yorkshire

A central midfielder in his second year at Chelsea who swapped the Leeds United academy for London the same summer as Michael Woods. However while Woods joined the first team tour of the United States, Tom's start at Chelsea was spoilt by a broken leg in pre-season.

He returned before the campaign's end but was limited to 13 youth games and just one sub appearance in the reserves. Now fit, he will hoping to show his full abilities this season. 

Gaël Kakuta

Born 21/6/91 in Lille, France.
A first year scholar and France Under 17 international who joined in the summer from Lens in his homeland. A skilful, attacking midfield player.

Jacob Mellis

Born 8/1/91 in Nottingham.
A member of the England Under 17 squad, Jacob is an attacking midfielder who signed in the summer from Sheffield United.

Daniel Philliskirk

Born 10/4/91 in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
A second striker or attacking midfielder signed in the summer from Oldham Athletic. Daniel has played for England Under 17s.

Jordan Tabor

Born 9/9/90 in Oxford.

A left-back or left-sided attacking player who is in his third year with Chelsea, this is his first season as a scholar. Jordan played five games in the youth team last season and is a proficient set-piece taker.

Fabio Borini

Born 23/3/91 in Bentivoglio, Italy.
A central striker and Italian Under 16 international who is new to Chelsea this season having signed from Bologna.

Adam Phillip

Born 19/6/91 in Carshalton, Surrey.
A striker, late into the professional club system having been scouted aged 15 when playing Sunday park football with Sutton, Adam is now an England Under 17 international.

With six youth team games and one goal under his belt as a schoolboy, he is now in his first scholar season.

Frank Nouble

Born 24/9/91
Joins Jeffrey Bruma to make it two schoolboys used regularly in the youth team in 2007/8. Tall and powerful, he can play centrally or cause problems for opponents when playing out wide. Called up by England Under 17s.

Morten Nielsen

Born 24/2/90 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

In his second year at Chelsea having turned pro in July 2007, Morten is a centre-forward who moved to England from FC Copenhagen. He has played for Denmark Under 18s and his father, Benny, was a full international.

 

He took part in 18+5 youth team games in his first season in London, scoring four goals, and this season has been asked to lead the line at both reserve and youth level.
