Chelsea Pitch Owners' Annual Lunch 2008

The CPO Annual Lunch took place on the 30 November 2008 and as usual sold-out within weeks. The success of the afternoon was largely due to the 50 past players including Charlie Cooke, Roy Bentley and Tommy Docherty attending the event, which was hosted by Sky Sports' Matt Lorenzo at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Highlights of the afternoon included a plaque presentation to special guest and Chelsea favourite Marcel Desailly to mark his inauguration as the new vice-president of CPO. He joins Ray Wilkins, Pat Nevin, David Webb and Dennis Wise in this popular role.

An exciting auction was held by popular actor Bobby Davro, with all proceeds going to the Past Players' Trust before comedian and Chelsea fan Omid Djalili provided hilarious entertainment to round-off the star studded afternoon.

As striker Steve Finnieston said: 'It's a fantastic day for players and supporters alike as we all get a big kick out of recalling the good old days.'
