The cheers that greeted goals created and scored by Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba were not the only celebration of a partnership at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Chelsea Football Club's four years working with CLIC Sargent as our UK charity partner were marked at the Fulham game as that partnership reaches its conclusion at the end of this season.
CLIC Sargent has become established during that time as the country's leading childhood cancer charity. It was also the first charity to form an official alliance with Chelsea with the partnership over the past four years raising almost £2 million.
Before kick-off this afternoon, the players wore CLIC Sargent t-shirts as they warmed up before the game. At half-time Keller Williams, a guest at the match and a nine-year-old who was diagnosed with leukaemia four years ago and underwent gruelling treatment, was joined on the pitch by his father Ricki plus CLIC Sargent's head of corporate fundraising Querida Williams and director of fundraising Lucy Caldicott (pictured below).

One of the benefits of the money raised is that more children like Keller can be treated at home, a far more settling environment than hospital in which to cope with the challenges disease.
During the past four years, major CLIC Sargent events involving Chelsea have included the annual launch of the Kick for Children with Cancer fundraiser that engages schools in activities and has seen its participation numbers double, and visits by Chelsea players to CLIC Sargent hospital wards at Christmas.
