Casey began playing football with her local boys' team until at the age of 11, when she moved to the local girls' side. It was there that Chelsea spotted the young hopeful and signed the aspiring defender.

Casey played for Chelsea from 1994 until 1998, when Arsenal beckoned. A successful stint with Charlton Athletic then followed before Casey returned to Chelsea in 2007.

Her ability to read the game, strong tackle, fantastic distribution and being a born leader meant Casey was soon given the armband at Chelsea.
