Chelsea fan and England rugby star Danny Cipriani was at Cobham today to meet John Terry, and take a look around our Cobham training ground.

Fly-half Cipriani, who suffered a dislocation and fracture of his right ankle back in May, received text messages of support from the Blues captain as he began his rehabilitation, and has since explained that it was a major encouragement to him.

Walking comfortably, Cipriani chatted with Terry, who suffered from his own injury problems last season.

A knee injury was followed by a broken cheekbone and then a broken foot, before the defender dislocated his elbow in the final league game of the season, only to recover in time for the Champions League Final on May 21.

'I have met him a few times, and obviously he is a top guy, he has sent me a few messages to see how I am doing. He has had his fair share of injuries and he has come back a stronger player, so there is something you can take heart from,' Cipriani said.

The 20-year-old hopes to be back in action by November, which would mean just half a year out of action.

'The injury is coming along well and hopefully I should be fit to play rugby again around November time, so having done it in May that is very quick.

'Nowadays there are a lot of similar injuries. If I had done it 10 or 15 years ago it would be a career-threatening injury, like a cruciate ligament, but with the medical science there is now it goes from there to playing again within six months.

'Having seen the training ground and the facilities here, there are some real opportunities to help players like me get back from injury, and watching training was good fun too, so it has been a good experience.'

You can see more of Cipriani's visit on Chelsea TV tonight, from 6.30pm on Blues News.
