Petr Cech, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Michael Essien and Didier Drogba will discover on Thursday if they have been be honoured in the Uefa Club Football Awards.

The awards, which are based on performances in the Champions League last season, will form part of the draw ceremony in Monaco for this season's group stage.

With three of the semi-final clubs last season coming from England, the Barclays Premier League dominates the nominations, supplying all but three of the players selected.

Cech will be hoping to retain the Uefa Goalkeeper of the Year award he won 12 months ago and in Lampard and Essien, there are two Chelsea names in the running for Uefa Club Midfielder of the Year, a category filled entirely by Premier League players, with Cesc Fabregas, Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes making up the five.

Drogba's six European goals helped put him in the running for Club Forward of the Year.

John Terry is a nominee for Defender of the Year Award despite an injury-stricken season that saw the captain defy medical expectations on more than one occasion, including his return for the Final only 10 days after dislocating his elbow.

Votes from the coaches of the 16 teams that reached the knock-out stages of the Champions League last season decide the winners with an overall Uefa Club Footballer of the Year elected from any of the pool of 20 nominees.
