They may be relative unknowns here in England, but chelseafc.com has a rundown of our Romanian opponents for tomorrow's Champions League tie.

The Champions League new boys upset the old guard on their debut in the competition a fortnight ago, winning 2-1 at Roma's Stadio Olimpico, venue for this season's final.

It was a result that made everybody sit up and take notice of a side in the third tier of Romanian football just seven years ago, the first team from outside Bucharest to take the title in 17 years.

Having spent most of their history in the lower echelons of Romanian football, their growth into champions is a remarkable story, but this didn't prevent coach Ioan Andone leaving the club after a poor run of results at the start of the season.

Italian Maurizio Trombetta stepped up from assistant, and led the club to its first Champions League win in his homeland. Now their aim is to topple Chelsea at their 23,200 Dr Constantin Radulescu stadium.

At the weekend they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Steaua Bucharest, the goal courtesy of Argentine forward Sebastien Dubarbier.
